Clover Bar's Sport for Life Program is now an EIPS Division Alternative Program! We will be hosting an information evening where you can come and learn about the amazing activities that students get to experience with the Sport for Life program.

2024-25 Sport for Life Registration

Registration in the Sport for Life Program will be completed through the Returning Student Registration or New Student Registration. Families will choose 'Clover Bar - Sport for Life'.

Families of students accepted into the program must finalize their Sport for Life registration through a program acceptance form sent out from the school via Permission Click on February 28, 2024. The form outlines expectations for program participation and information about fees. A specific Sport for Life payment plan option is available for those who need it. Payment Plan Setup Instructions

Sport for Life Mission

To expose students to a variety of sport and recreation activities in school—cultivating their athletic skill and leadership qualities.

The goal:  For all students to develop a lifelong active and healthy  lifestyle. The Sport for Life program is based on the Canadian Sport for Life (CS4L) model, a movement to improve the quality of sport and physical activity in Canada through improved athlete training and better integration between all stakeholders in the sport system, including sport organizations, education, recreation and health.

 

What is Sport for Life?

Sport for Life is a program being offered at Clover Bar Junior High School and is open to students in grades 7 to 9. The program gives students the chance to enhance their skills in both athletics and academics, while also developing habits and attitudes for an active and healthy lifestyle.

The Sport for Life program is based on the Canadian Sport for Life (CS4L) model, a movement to improve the quality of sport and physical activity in Canada through improved athlete training and better integration between all stakeholders in the sport system, including sport organizations, education, recreation and health.

Curriculum Included: Physical Education, Health, Career and Technology Foundations

Topics of Study: Sport specific training, generalized movement training, leadership training and opportunities, sports injuries, health and nutrition, sports psychology, personal development and goal setting, self and team evaluation, and sports related careers exposure.
